Makanan Tradisional Orang Sabah.

HINAVA

Petikan daripada The Star Online-kuali - "Maria Lasimbang makes her Hinava Sada Tongii with grated bambangan, the dried seed of a local wild mango. It has a pleasant sourish taste and smell, and slightly powdery texture. Its absence in the dish will probably go unnoticed as the lime flavour will predominate". Macam sedap pula saya tingu ni Hinava :drool2: .

Ok, masakan orang Bugis yang paling saya suka makan, murtabak/martabak. Asal food ni dari Arab or India, tida tau sepa duluan. But kalau di Sabah, orang Bugis saja yang saya rasa mahir dalam buat murtabak or dalam Sabah slang, martabak. So saya kira ini Bugis food. My father, a Chinese selalu beli martabak every weekend for our family. Mimang best. Martabak di Semenanjung mahal but taste like old beef stew. Sabah punya martabak juga the best.

Macam mana rasa ambuyat? Saya sendiri pun belum pernah makan juga :mad2: . Fail again.

Ambuyat, is a gluey "porridge" with sago starch. It's using a pair of chopsticks cut from the rib of the sago palm to twirl it up into a sticky mass for dunking in a tasty sauce.

Bulan, nanti saya balik ko kasi ready saya hinava. To Faith, you must try the Murtabak sayor. It tastes so good. Makanan asli durang. Saya sendiri pun tidak pernah taste. Sedap juga saya tingu. Mungkin kena makan ambuyat style combo sama daging and curry sauce.

Oxtail Asam Pedas

Postby KiCkOutPTI » Tue Mar 24, 2009 5:29 pm

It took me 1 hour to finalize the image of this Sabah great dish. Other images look like low-class versions of this dish. Well, here we go. Oxtail Assam Pedas is a sour and spicy stew that was introduced by Chef Suparman Yahya decades ago. The oxtail, cooks to perfect tenderness with tamarind and special herbs, is simply irresistible. Its rich red color and majestic taste is beyond anyone imagination :lolrf: . Sorry guys, saya ni mimang tida pandai describe pasal makanan but pasal oxtail assam pedas, every Sabahan should be proud of it. If he still works there).
